What to do if your dog do not like the taste of his medicine.

It is a well-known fact that both dogs and kids hate to take their medicine. Since dogs cannot grab a cup of water to swallow a pill, you have to a bit more resourceful. Most dogs are smart enough to know if you have included the medicine in their food or water so definitely they will not touch it. I decided to share some of the tricks that I do in order for my dogs to take their medicines, I've already tried this steps, so this will definitely work.

1. Pill Crush Method

--- Crush the pill between two spoons, by exerting pressure from the palm of your hand and your thumbs and twisting the two spoons back and forth.

--- Thoroughly mix the pill powder that you created with a teaspoon of a soft, creamy treat your dog loves, such as a spoon-full of canned dog food or even peanut butter, or yogurt. (I use peanut butter or cheese spread)

--- Let your dog lick the spoon-full of food/pill mixture.

 2. Food method

--- Hide the pill in a meatball or a piece of cheese and feed it to the dog.

---  Roll the pill into a thin strip of sliced lunch meat. ( I use bacon)

--- If the pill is very small, a section of cheese stick with the pill shoved into the middle works well. Softer cheeses work better than hard cheese such as cheddar, because hard cheese has a tendency to crumble.

--- Sometimes simply rubbing the pill with butter will work.

---  Hide the pill in a glob of peanut butter and feed it to the dog. The peanut butter will stick to the pill, giving the dog no choice but to swallow it. (Make sure that you feed the dog peanut butter twice a day for two days, then he/she will get a taste for it. After that, do the instructions above. Also hold the peanut butter on a spoon.)
